meant to say WLNI in the morning, dont listen to wnrn in the morning, acoustic sunrise is awful. WLNI and ESPN seems to be about the only thing worth listening to in the morning these days.

When I was in the 'burg I usually kept my car radio on 89.9. They play a wide variety of solid music. I did listen to ESPN radio in the mornings however because I just couldn't do the Acoustic Sunrise thing on WNRN. I also thought that 97.9 the Planet was pretty decent since they played deeper album cuts of classic rock songs instead of the typical rotation of only the best known songs of each artist. They were definitely better than WROV...
NRN is a very solid station.......I always say that Central Virginia is very lucky to have a station like that...completely independent....its impossible to find that these days....
I love WNRN. It's like a traditional college station without most of the sucky parts. That being said, I feel like independent stations keep someone at ClearChannel awake at night saying things like "Must. Destroy. Indie. Stations!" I'm always afraid they're going to come in and do something shady that will end up taking them off the air.
Yeah...I would love to work for a station like NRN one day...that would be absolutely amazing....I don't think you need to worry so much about Clear Channel anymore....They have sold quite a few stations in the past year, I am not sure they are doing so well...
wnrn is probably my favorite station accross the nation...
i listen to it streaming at work sometimes...
we have a station that i can kind of pickup sometimes that is the western illinois station. its similar but its only modern rock during the day and heavy metal (the good stuff) at night...

I will take your word on that one as you would know more then I...
I just remember reading some articles saying they weren't doing as well....
Clear Channel has killed independent radio though...but don't get me started on that
