that is the only thing i will give you (fundamentally sound) it sounds like you are saying that watching fundamental basketball in which case WBB is that way, is boring and IMO that is not appreciating WBB like it or not.

The funny thing is that if you are a real basketball player you would actually try to play fundamental basketball. Good fundamentals will beat athleticism, maybe not every time but most of the time it is the way to go. Basketball is not about looking good while you are playing, it's about winning and the best and most consistant way to win is fundamentaly.

Women's basketball IS NOT any more fundamental than men's basketball. Women take shots that are just as bad. They pass just as little. They miss just as many layups. They make just as many dumb turnovers. It's the same game. I think everybody thinks it's "pure" basketball because they heard that on TV one time. And now it gets repeated.

I said no such thing. What I meant was men vs men and women vs women. You start with the fundamentals and then use athleticism. When two teams are evenly matched the more fundamentaly sound team will be the winner. What I am trying to say is that fundamentals are much more important than athleticism alone. Men seem to run more on athleticism than fundamentals and women seem to lean toward fundamentals just because naturaly women (though I hate to say it) do tend to not be as athletic, though granted there are some that can wup the male gender very effectively using athleticism.

Thanks. I can see how UNCA WBB could throw a knot in it. It's a pity that was the first exposure to WBB you had or at least the one that stayed with you the longest came from them. It's not all like that. I promise!

The current coach (Blose) has done a lot to turn around that program...in play and in perception. The previous staff...scary.
