Perhaps LU should try a more professional marketing approach to their goal. Baylor has a push to complete their vision, and their moniker is Baylor 2012. While BHAG may be fine for the "LU Family," perhaps they should come up with a more marketable solution:
Liberty 2020 (14 years from now, and the play on the vision thing) might be an idea to start with. I think that idea of a 10-15 years timetable was in an article somewhere when the 50,000 student thing came out awhile ago in the media, that the timetable was around 15 years or so; at any rate with a glossy makeover, that might be a drive that alumni and those who like the idea of the university but aren't necessarily alumni might be able to latch onto.

It could be presented as a Public Relations point and give alumni and supporters information updates as well as an opportunity to submit their ideas and perhaps funds, and an information site where LU could put up models of what they dream of the campus looking like, etc. so that people could get excited about it and perhaps in their emotional state might be inclined to contribute a few nickels to the cause.
