Well its been a pretty tough road to hoe for the gals this year (The team is almost entirely freshmen this year). They are down 2-1 in the 6th inning.

Winner plays Winthrop at 3 today, loser plays loser of Coastal and Charleston Southern tomorrow morning at 10 AM.

Running a promo for the Big South Baseball Tournament in Danville in a couple weeks as well.

Ladies up 2-0 in the 7th...
...this is shaping up to be quite the day for LU softball. If they hold on...at least they would not play until 3 on Saturday.

Outstanding. Making it through the loser's bracket with a YOUNG team can only give them a great foundation to build on for next year...regardless of what happens tomorrow.

Wow! Whooda thought that this young team which struggled all year would advance further than last years Senior-dominated powerhouse?

I think that may be WEF's round-about way of saying he's glad they are playing us and not Radford.

It looks like our ladies are on a roll though, and they just may be young and naive enough not to know that they aren't supposed to be doing this!

Softball falls 6-1 to Winthrop. Congrats to the ladies for a nice tournament run...and to Winthrop and a true classy coach for the title.

From today's (Rock Hill) Herald:

http://www.heraldonline.com/205/story/549840.html
NOTE: Liberty senior Ashley Williams was honored before the game by her teammates. Williams had to miss her graduation to play, so her teammates presented her with an "honorary" degree and sang "Pomp and Circumstance." It may have seemed like a poor substitute -- Liberty's graduation speaker was Chuck Norris.
