Down 6-0 vs Towson. Had a freshman pitcher in there who really got roughed up and Sara Ellis came in relief. Not a good sign not only when we are getting manhandled and have to go to our only reliable pitcher we have in Ellis. We lost a ton of talent from last year and it looks like we might have to take a step back. Hopefully today was just a bad game.

We loose 11-1. The game ended on a grand slam homer. Holy cow!

We're off to a slow start. But hopefully we can get back on track against Kennesaw State tonight.

And that is exactly what we did with a 7-0 victory over KSU.

Dana Wheeler nearly threw a perfecto in that game giving up just a single in the 5th inning, walking no one and K'ing up 12.

Nice to recover from that embarrasing defeat and whip Kennessaw and almost pulll one out against NC State. Finished 1-2-1 with the Tennessee Tech ending in a tie.

...and props to LU for knowing the rulebook to get the score changed back from a 2-1 loss.

Rules Clarification Gives Lady Flames Tie

February 24, 2008
Charleston, S.C.
Upon further review, the Lady Flames softball program is going to end its opening weekend of the 2008 season with a 1-2-1 record, as the result of Liberty’s contest against Tennessee Tech on Friday was ruled a tie game on Sunday.
bottom line- we were the home team batting when weather stopped the game, so our run DID count. Interesting.
