The ladies are also in Blacksburg tomorrow, but for a 2 game set.

This opponent presents a considerably better than our guys will face today- they are currently 3rd in the ACC w/ a record of 36-15 (Overall) and 12-8 in the conf. Last year they beat us 4-1 and 4-2 at our place.

They've lost to Coastal (Away) and actually lost to RADFORD as well at HOME, but have played well lately winning 7 outta their last 9 games.

The teams appear evenly matched: realistically, it would be great to take one from them at their place.

Radford was playing a double header with VT and Radford brought out the bats in the second game winning 11-0.

do not get decieved with that 11-0 score. their ace angela tincher did not pitch in that game. she is 24-6 with an 0.78 ERA. pretty nasty stuff. she is on the news here all the time being that she went to james river high. im sure she willpitch t least one of the games. VT is a quality squad, but i know out ladies will give it their best.

Still beating an ACC school is a big win for a Big South school.

maybe in a revenue sport, but some low tier ACC schools in baseball and softball are really bad. if you get excited over the name fine, but some of our big south schools are just better period.

agree w/ SMOOTHIE on this one, but seeing how the guys did last night puts a damper on things a little. GO FLAMES!

I don't care what sport it is, beating an ACC school is still a big win. A lot of the teams (in the Big South) in all of the sports have not been that successful against anybody from the ACC conference. Sure we maybe competitive but have not won that much against them.

Very nice win for LU. I am listening to the game on VT's website. So far LU has a 3-0l lead in the top of the third inning.

LU sweeps the double header at Virginia Tech. First game 6-5 and the finale 3-0. Very good win by the lady flames.

well of course tech over rutgers...proximity of schools, in-state competition. all im saying is sometimes we get caught up in the name, when in actually the ACC program is just not that good....BTW two good wins for the lady flames...now a nice 3 game stretch for the weekend in big south play.

I guess a record of 3-1 against ACC schools for softball in the regular season ain't too bad.

Has Coach bought himself at least a week of not being criticized?

I think Coach Wetmore must be wearing teflon. No one has even spoken ill of him at all.
