Big South Tournament at Coastal

as the medic put in another thread, the flames open play in the big south tournament thursday as the number one seed and will face the winner of coastal carolina/birmingham southern at 3pm

The banquet is tonight...we'll see if the Big South conspiracy to hose the ladies (and their coach) out of post-season awards is accurate.

If Jessica Moore doesn't win Player of the Year, then she definitely got hosed...but as for the Coach of the Year race, it's hard to choose between Wetmore and WU's Mark Cooke...

The tournament is underway as Birmingham Southern (#5 seed) and Coastal Carolina (#4 seed) are battling. Loser of this game faces top seeded Liberty facing elimination
Right now its the top of the second inning and Birmingham Southern leads 1-0. Bethney Reynoldson is pitching for BSC and Ashley Frederick is pitching for Coastal (Coastal of course is the defending champion)

and we got a good one going in the first game as Coastal ties the game for the third time on a Glynn Tolleson home run leading off the 7th...3-3

Ashley Gerdts ends it with a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 7th inning and Coastal Carolina wins 7-3. They will face Liberty in a winners bracket game at 3 PM. Birmingham Southern will face the loser of Charleston Southern and Radford in an elimination game tomorrow morning
