Sam Houston

We lose to Sam Houston today 3-1. As has been the case in all our losses , we were pitiful at the plate. Only 5 hits. We had 11 ground ball outs, 2 pop-ups, 4 fly balls and 3 Ks looking. Our approach at the plate needs a major overhaul. I have no idea what we're trying to do at the plate, and I don't think the hitters know either. We look at too many strikes, not aggressive early in the count. Today after 1 time thru the lineup, we should have made some adjustments, but never did.
We should not be losing to a team with a RPI of 122, and 22 losses on the season.

Agreed on all points.

Any one know why Escobar and Whatley aren't playing?

Injured. Escobar pitching today but we’ve been taking it easy. When she’s not pitching she’s in a boot.

You forgot to mention that on Thursday we won 9-4 and batted .400 as a team. Did our approach change that much overnight? :dontgetit I watched much of Friday's game and their pitcher was hitting her spots all night. So she should get a little credit IMHO.
Some of you love to dwell on the negative too much. Yes we had an off night at the plate but the sky isn't falling.

I guess that explains our 37-10 record and top 25 ranking doesn't it?
You're right, all is lost and there's nothing to be positive about this year.
Man, I hope we get better next year.

Lady Flames win the series with a 7-4 win. They batted 12-26 (.462 team avg for the game). Defense uncharacteristically failed them in the seventh and allowed a couple unearned runs. 38-10 record. Noteably, after a horrible start to the season, Rachel Craine was 3-3 and now has her average up to .280.

She was wearing a soft brace on right knee today as well.

Any word on Whatley. Could use her bat in the lineup.
