Hokies

A major hunk of humble pie! Lose 9-0 and get no hit to boot. We have to put this one in the rear view mirror and get tougher at the plate. Some of the hitters are too “stylistic” and simply not mentally tough enough.

Someone give me a rational explanation as to why Coach Dot would start a freshman against a ranked team? Not that it matters too much, they do not know how to hit.

The two areas that will hold the team back is hitting and defense. I still think they need a new hitting coach.

Definitely a tough one but VT is really good. Would not be surprised to see them in the supers this year.

First game I have been able to watch this year and I did notice a lot of closed stances and arm swings.

Regardless I love Coach Dot’s positivity and I have no doubt we will finish strong and make another strong run this year.

This team have been arm swingers since last year. I’ve been suggesting for a new hitting coach since last year. Their hitting approach is not high level. But starting a freshman pitcher against a rank team still boggles my mind.

Liberty 2 JMU 1. Savannah Woodward home run in 5th inning was the difference. Escobar 5 innings and Bachman picks up the save, with 2 scoreless innings.
