The guys aren't the only ones swinging bats in the spring. You can follow the squad throughout the season and even get the latest on recruiting.

Another heart breaking loss. 2-1. We out hit Auburn 9-2. But went 1-18 with runners on base, and 0-10 with runners in scoring position.
Dana Allen was brilliant in relief, 5.2 in̈wings, 0 runs, 6 KS. We pitched good enough to win all 3 losses in Florida, but hitting and scoring runs is a mystery

Roupe needs to get going with the bat. The killer was the 6th when we loaded the bases the nobody out and didn’t score! A strikeout (looking), pop up and weak ground ball.

Poor Yoder. She couldn't throw a strike to save her neck. Walked 4 straight, gave up 2 runs before she was pulled. She's been pitching strong?

During those wins, this team had some timing hitting that help get them the wins. But the rest of the at-bats were weak. Almost every game, too many weak ground balls and pop ups. A coach once told us, if you are going to hit to an out, let it be “hard outs”. Make the opponents earn it. Too many weak at bats with this team. They do not finish their swing, as a result, weak productions.

So last time I checked Craine was hitting .036 BA. Why is she still playing? This is where teams loses good players to the transfer portal. The unfairness of coaching is showing here. Coach Dot needs to consider this.

Too many weak balls hit to right side. In many at bats, we swing as if we're scared we'll hurt the ball. Be aggressive , go with the pitch. And don't fall behind in the count. Just execute basic hitting philosophy. Our LH hitters seem to be swinging better than our RH hitters.

Most of our RH batters have a closed stance. Need to move back foot 2" closer to the plate and open up their stance (left foot) @ 2". It allows you to still get the outside pitch and clobber mistakes inside. Roupe especially since 90% of her contact at bats go to RF, or weak pop ups to 1B & 2B. She'd show a lot more power if she opened her stance and pulled the ball to the left side. Closed stances requires all arms. Open stances, its the hips and legs. My 2 cents.

Agreed. I checked the stats and still not hitting and she’s not going up against top tier pitchers either. All while a conference player of the year is sitting on the bench.

Craine is good on defense but does nothing at the plate. They have an upgrade sitting on the bench.

Their load or the start of their swing is correct but when their swing get going is the problem. Their bodies stops rotating. They react with their hands and their hands get too ahead of their hips. So, the swing becomes an “arm swing”. This produces weak hits. Also, reacting to the pitch with hands lead to being too early in the swing sometimes. So therefore they are in trouble with the outside pitch. It produces weak hits with the outside pitches. Most of these players are arm swingers.

Henault is the starting 3B right now and she got a basehit right away with her first at bat of the game.

Thank you. I’m out of town. I was looking into the box score really quick. I did not look into the detail of the hit. Now the game is a one run game. How important was that HR?

Does anyone know the status of the Virginia Tech pitcher transfer, Haley McManus? Just wondering. She was supposed to be a good recruit coming out of high school. But I heard she had medical issues.
