This team needs a better hitting approach or mechanics. They better change that mindset.

Definitely, last season we ranked something like 193rd in the nation in team batting average. With our pitching, if we hit, we should be a Top 15 team.

I love Coach Dot, but she is falling line of insanity. You cannot keep doing the same thing over and over again and hope to have a different result. If she still got the same hitting coach, then I am nervous for this team. Unless, they change their philosophy on hitting.

Second game, Liberty 7 Longwood 3. Jamaya Byrum had home run, Danner Allen, Brook Wildes, and Alyessa Henault each had 2 hits.
Escobar, McManus and Allen combined on a 3 hitter. All 3 Longwood runs were unearned.

What did the defense look like?

Defense was good except for 5th inning in game 2.

With no football this weekend, LU fans can be treated to 3 Fall Softball games, Friday at JMU, and home Sunday for 2 games, UVA & Averett.

Game times are 2:00 and 4:00 Sunday.

I will be driving to JMU. Taking 1/2 day vacation Friday.

How is JMU’s softball facility?

That’s a great drive up Afton Mountain. Might just be starting to get some color up there!

Their stadium is really nice, probably the 2nd best in the state (after Liberty).

Liberty 5 JMU 2, Yoder ,Escobar and Bachman pitched. Scattered 5 hits, 2 walks and 10 strikeouts. Jesse and Craine each had 2 hits.

Liberty 14 UVA 10, LU scored 6 runs in bottom of 10th. Jamaya Byrum had a 2 run homer to give LU it's first lead of the game. Savannah Jessee had HR over scoreboard. Byrum had 2 homers in the game. Liberty battled back from a 9-1 deficit. Jesse had 4 hits, Byrum and Doerr had 3 hits.
