Should be a great match up for us. During the season we swept them and outscored them 19-3. We also outhit them 32-13. Step #1!

1-1 early. We give them a run, then Autumn Bishop pokes one.

Engler in to pitch with 1 out in the second. Is Julia injured?

Prebble goes yard to make it 2-1 G-W. She must have heard that some old ballcoach on the LU fan site said she didn't deserve to be POY.

Ballcoach, did Prebble hit a good pitch, or did we throw one down the middle of the plate?

Amazing that the BSC chooses to hold conference tournaments at these horrible venues, when we have one of the best facilities in the region, for most sports.
After we land in another conference, they should rent out our facilities for their Championship tournaments. It would be a lot better than any other BSC facilities. They can also say that they will now hold these at a neutral site.

We win 8-2, with 7 of our runs coming in the 4th inning. Apparently Julia is OK, because she came back in to pitch out of a bases loaded jam in the 7th. My guess is Dot thought the G-W hitters were timing Julia's stuff too well and decided to give them a different look. Except for 1 pitch to Prebble, it worked out beautifully.

Every sport handles it differently, but in softball they rotate, with every team getting to host every 8 years I guess. It's "fair", but silly.

Story of game was the 13 runners we left on base.

Only for you.
Leaving 13 on would have been the "story of the game" if we had lost 2-1
We out-pitched, out-hit and out-fielded them and we won 8-2.
Also, according to the box score, we left 11 on. G-W left 8, and only scored 2 runs.

Agreed...the important thing is we won and only need, what...two more wins to win the Big South?

Either it's raining in Radford, or their live stats has been frozen for almost an hour. Longwood and Radford tied at 1-1 after 3.

Play has resumed. Still 1-1 top of 5th. I'm hoping this will go extra innings with both starters throwing about 160 pitches.

Radford wins 4-1 to put the team from Farmville in losers bracket.

So, we get Radford, and either will face their #2 pitcher Huffman, or Morrow, after pitching a complete game today. I like that a lot better than going against Sydney Backstrom of Longwood, who had our number earlier this year.

Looks like it's raining again with Campbell leading G-W 3-2 in the 2nd.
