The guys aren't the only ones swinging bats in the spring. You can follow the squad throughout the season and even get the latest on recruiting.

A nail biter but LU pulls it out on a sac fly by Alexia Taylor win 1-0. Another stellar outing from JD although she might o\have tired some at the end. Great regular season with 44 wins. On to the BSC tournament and then the NCAA's!

For all those who in pre season picked Longwood to win regular season championship, me and TF will schedule a softball clinic to "coach them up" on college softball.

I am not aware that anyone here on this forum picked Longwood to win the regular season championship. In the pre-season voting for that, done by media people, they were picked first and Liberty second. For the record, we were also regular season champions last year and Longwood entered the tournament as the #3 seed. Our record against them in the last 2 years is 3-6.

As far as TF is concerned, isn't he the guy who predicted baseball would have a better record this year than softball?

I put as much stock in the predictions of ballcoach and his ‘Sources’ as I do Miss Cleo. The few times they are right they will shout so loud to hope you forget the majority of time they were wrong

Every time I sit near TF and ballcoach at an LU softball game, I feel like I'm attending a coaching clinic. :oldhag :oldhag

Imagine how you’d feel if you sat by people who actually coach!

Imagine those people who have to Teach AND Coach

Coaching is a 365 day per year job, if it's done right. and try coaching 3 or 4 sports per year at high school level.

But I am reminded of a new football coach going to new teacher orientation at central office:

He was asked, "what subject do you teach" ? He replied, "I'm the head football coach at _________"

Plus, ballcoach is, I think, 67 years old. So his coaching days are over. :oldhag

TF likes to say that ballcoach was a volunteer coach at Gretna High School, and he was overpaid.

You're not going to get on Cider for "an volunteer"?

Cider represented me well in a previous post so I paid him back by passing on that one. I’m a sentimental softy like that

I also had to go back and add an "n" to Gretna. In the true spirit of Purple, I think I was spelling like a WVU alum.

They make pills for that. Maybe Purple peddles them.
