Catcher Kelby Allen has been on a tear as a senior, hitting over .600 and recently securing the school-record 200th career RBI.

Over the past four seasons, the No. 6 Randall softball program has had a strong constant in its battery.

The Randall Lady Raiders boast one of the top backstops in the state in four-year starter Kelby Allen and this year she is having the season of her career.

The senior catcher has more hits (72), runs (60) and home runs (13) than she had in any of her three previous seasons. Even more impressive than those numbers, is in 110 plate appearances this season, Allen has struck out just three times.

Allen has committed to play softball for Liberty University in Virginia, and plans to make an impact from the start.

"People say because I'm going to be an incoming freshman that I'm going to sit the bench my freshman year," Allen said. "I want to prove them wrong. I want to be a starter for a D-I college. That's been my dream. I want to not only prove them wrong but prove to myself I can do it."

Well with both of our everyday catchers graduating she'll have a chance to jump right into the starting lineup.
