The guys aren't the only ones swinging bats in the spring. You can follow the squad throughout the season and even get the latest on recruiting.

Come on PH. You apparently didn't read my post. Nothing has changed. Softball will most likely be using Worthington soon. They obviously can't use it until it is modified to be a softball stadium and that couldn't happen until the baseball team was gone. Softball is a priority. You have no way of knowing what is last on my list. I made a new softball stadium one of my priorities about two years ago -- about the same time that Liberty began to focus on rebuilding all its athletic facilities. Certain things had to happen first before we could move forward and now they have. If promises were made to softball in the past and not kept, who made them? What were they? When were they made? I'll be glad to look into that.

So, again, there was no bad news to release. There is no bad news. The plans have not changed. Your posts have no accurate content which means they couldn't possibly be stating the obvious and so I did judge them by their content. And I haven't discussed any of this thread or my response with anyone else.

Then I stand corrected. I still don't see it as a priority but that's potato potatoe in any case.
My posts were based on other posts and their inaccurate content. So while wrong I am not alone.

So BJ doesn't count as anyone else? :D. I just ask for the same benefit of the doubt that you desire.

Your point is well taken and I apologize if my comments on the radio caused confusion. Have a good night, PH!

You say that now. After both IU and LU lost! At least my wife will be on TV in a bit.

A softball stadium is smaller and cheaper to build than a baseball stadium. I say, find a patch of land, bring in the bulldozers and start grading it down. Build it and have it ready for 2014 season opener.

Since the plan is to have softball in old Worthington for next year (as explained by the Chancellor), any "ground up" (as in built from the ground up) softball complex isnt going to just be slapped together in 9 months. If there is a plan to have facilities for softball at or above the level of the football and baseball facilities, they'll take as much time as necessary to design it, build it and furnish it and make it one of the jewels of the campus that can be proudly shown to alumni, prospective athletes and even coaching candidates when the time comes.

As for 2014, My guess is all that will really be needed to retrofit Worthington Stadium for softball is to move the fences in to around 200-250 feet, convert the infield to all dirt, move the scoreboard from the current softball field there and build in bullpen areas for the pitchers.

They can start and finish a good softball field in 9 months. Not saying they will nor should but it is possible. I really do hope they get the changes done in time for next season to move SB into Old Worthy. I just made that name up. I sorta like it

Ph your thinking out side of the box! I think that will be great. Old "Worthy" gets a Softball team worthy of a better place to play (for now based on previous posts). Keep em coming we are paying attention all the way from the Bob Eucker Section of $1 Seats... yep, there pretty Cheap

I am not a construction engineer, but I don't think it would take 9 months to build a softball stadium. If the money is available now, identify the site, draw up the plans, bid the project, and start moving dirt.

Thanks Ph. I am trying. adam42381 seems a bit annoyed with my style and my close. Haaa figure that, I am annoying a Boston fan, that's a first and therefore I must continue. Remember even at the heralded Fenway park they have limited view seating and they are (expensive) but, A CheapSeat isn't always about the cost! It's about how much of the game you actually see.

ballcoach, its not simply about the field itself. Its about building the clubhouse, offices, batting cages and whatever else, and also about finding the right site that not only offers maximum exposure but is level enough that we dont end up with a situation like Dorm 7 some years ago on a larger scale. If they just started moving dirt and found they cant lay a solid foundation for not only the stadium but everything that would go with it, you'd be decrying the fact that they didnt take time and due diligence and made sure that the area was safe for building.
