The guys aren't the only ones swinging bats in the spring. You can follow the squad throughout the season and even get the latest on recruiting.

Glad to see that we have a road trip to Charlottesville to play Mr. Jefferson's University. Study I always like returning to my alma mater.

Escobar, but I think we had 3 errors, plus a couple mental errors, that wasn't on scoreboard.

Schedule update

We travel to UVA today for 6:00 p.m. game. Tomorrow, we play Sweet Briar at 3:30, 7 inning game. Apparently we had to drop Averett, because we played Lynchburg 2 games a couple weeks ago. D1 teams are only allowed 8 games in the Fall.

In 10 innings UVA won 5-4. Score was tied after 7 innings 3-3, Liberty lead 4-3 after 8.
We out hit UVA 11-6, but left a lot of runners on base. Our pitching was decent. Used 4 pitchers. We played entire roster. Our freshmen had some good at bats against UVA pitching.

Final score LU 32 Sweet Briar 1. Love and Yoder combined on 1 hitter. LU hit 7 home runs, including 4 straight in one inning.
Good to see pitchers throw strikes, only 2 walks.

Only 3 members of the Old Men's Club were there, and only 2 of us stayed until the end of the 10th inning. :oldhag :oldhag
But LU came from behind with some clutch hitting and great relief pitching to win 11-6. And the Hoos committed 4 errors!

LU won 8-4 in 7 innings and 11-6 in 10 innings. Wilson had 2 triples, Bazile and Deter had doubles. Barrett and Fortner had 2 hits. Freshmen pitchers Yoder and Love combined for 6 no hit innings with 5 strikeouts.
KK Madrey made a sports center play of the night catch in left field, going up and over the wall, robbing UVA of a home run
