The guys aren't the only ones swinging bats in the spring. You can follow the squad throughout the season and even get the latest on recruiting.

I could not believe there was no concession stand in operation.
Congratulations on even FINDING the field! Even a couple of big coolers selling soft drinks and water would be nice. Nachos, warm cheese or not, would be too much to hope for until the move into Ole Worthy. Which theoretically is supposed to be next year

It is apparent that at present time, LU softball doesn't receive the attention as most other sports at LU. This is not good, because softball is a sport that LU should strive in. In reality, it probably should be a sport that LU is a regular participant in NCAA tournament most years. But for this to happen, most attention needs to be bestowed upon the program.

Yes. We have discussed this before. IMO, Softball does a great job of being good stewards of what they have been given.

IMO, they all get a pass for 3 reasons. 1) they have been successful in the past, winning the BSC in 2011. 2 and 3) The coach has been there for a very long time and been through the tough times and it would show tremendous loyalty to give him a shot when they at least start playing in Ole Worthy.
I hope they let Coach Wetmore enjoy the benefits of a new stadium. He has done a lot with very little.

Have they started working on the stadium to convert it to softball? I looked to see if there was a construction camera setup similar to baseball and the other projects going on around campus, there was not one setup.

What's the word on the '13 class and '14 class?

The 2014 class looks strong. This years team is really really young so you knew they were going to get some bumps and bruises.
As for the conversion I haven't seen anything yet. I'm not sure what's going on. It would be nice if they were already locked down for a place time and date for their permanent home but they should at least be getting Ole Worthy ready if not

I was near old Worthy recently on my trip (yes in the new baseball stadium) and took a picture of my seat BUT couldn't get it to post. The number row P-6. I think I got upgraded because it was a good seat But a CheapSeat. Got a free teeshirt too. Anyway. Old Worthy looked abandon. No activity, torn nets and the beautiful Bermuda grass was mostly weeds. But I am sure there is a plan. Does anyone know what the status of the temporary use of Old Worthy is?

The parents of the players are being told they will be playing in their new stadium next year........

Well if there is a new stadium underway that would be awesome for a new coach. I hope to sit on the home team side of the new stadium. And (if it is like the new baseball stadium) even the CheapSeats will have a great view of the action. I will be there with an LU cap my shades and plenty of sun screen. 8)

PH --I will even buy you a hot dog at the new concession stand.

I agree if they've already started construction for a new softball complex it wouldn't make sense to retrofit Ole Worthy. However, that is not the current case. Even if its a ' proposed date' I'd like to see Worthy retrofitted, because dates and priorities can be changed and a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Ole Worthy is great to have "on the Bench" as a substitute. I am pretty certain it would not take a huge amount of money to convert short term. Maybe a Company would sponsor the temporary conversion. (EASTON) ? Trust me I wouldn't do it unless it was a Cheap way to go. 8)

Have you been to softballs current field? Now if your bringing in a Food Truck that's awesome. Koto has one and they do a great job

Great. Now I'm hungry for yum yum sauce

Hey what's "yum yum sauce". Sounds good but sticky. Can we get it all the way up here, you know where I sit? How much does it cost? Need enough left to buy a seat. (A cheap one)
