The gathering place for LU alumni to wax nostalgic about their glory days and tell current students how easy they have it. Old hags & bright-eyed and bushytailed recent grads both welcome.

Former LU football player now working on the other side of the recruiting table ...
Arkansas Sports 360 wrote:Lackey hired Pinnacle Preps Recruiting out of Fayetteville to do the marketing for his son.

Walt Williams, who played at Shiloh Christian and collegiately for the University of Central Arkansas and Liberty University in Virginia, started Pinnacle Preps Recruiting four years ago with three clients and now has 31.

"What I've found in general is that most parents are scared that they are not giving their child the opportunity they need," Williams said. "You only have the opportunity to get recruited to play college football once in your lifetime."

Williams' packages run from $1,700 to $2,500.

"It is nice for someone to spend $1,700 and get a scholarship that is worth $100,000 over four years," he said.

Williams said he works with clients if necessary when money becomes an issue.

"I don't want to turn anybody away because they can't afford to use our services," he said.

I remember this guy. He lived in my dorm. He didn't actually play at Liberty -- he transferred to LU in the spring semester and wound up getting kicked out because he choked one of my friends (a quick check in LU's media guide -- and how he is not listed -- proves the first part).

In fact, he came to Liberty with a guy named Josh Floyd, a QB who broke all sorts of records in high school (and finished 5th in the nation in all-time passing yards). He was the son of megachurch pastor Ronnie Floyd, and Falwell even brought Josh on stage at TRBC and proclaimed him to be the future of LU Football.

Unfortunately, things didn't pan out that way. I kinda realized this when he, myself, and some guys on the dorm were playing a leisurely game of football and he was tossing up interceptions. Josh played in the spring game, stunk, and didn't return in the fall.

Long story short -- good to see Walt doing something with his life that doesn't involve assaulting my buddies.
