Attorney general
Dan Greear is the Republican who will restore the dignity of this office
ATTORNEY General Darrell V. McGraw Jr., has had a controversial tenure in that office, but he is unopposed in the May 13 Democratic primary election. Two men seek the GOP nomination.
The Daily Mail endorses Dan Greear, who most clearly articulates how McGraw has misused the office, is the strongest candidate, and who would take the office in a direction that better serves West Virginia.
Greear, a partner in Kesner, Kesner & Bramble, is a graduate of South Charleston High School, Liberty University and the West Virginia University College of Law.
He represented Kanawha County's 30th District in the House of Delegates in 1995-96.
Greear is an effective candidate, and would have the backing necessary to tackle the durable McGraw, who has shamelessly used the assets of his office to enhance his name recognition among voters.
