The gathering place for LU alumni to wax nostalgic about their glory days and tell current students how easy they have it. Old hags & bright-eyed and bushytailed recent grads both welcome.

From the Richmond fishwrap ...
Bumbut always intense - because 'you play how you train'

Both coaches reached the same conclusion. Throw Adrian Bumbut into any soccer drill and you'll see the same intensity.

Jeff Alder witnessed Bumbut's hustle while playing for Liberty University. Leigh Cowlishaw has seen the same work ethic in Bumbut, who's now a midfielder with the Richmond Kickers. Whether it's a 3-on-2, 4-on-3 or 7-on-7 drill, a scrimmage or a game, Bumbut goes full speed for a simple reason.

"You play how you train," said Bumbut, whose 9-4-2 Kickers host the Cleveland City Stars at 7 tonight at University of Richmond Stadium. "It was always in my family [blood] to play sports. And not just to play sports but to play them competitively. That's where I got my ambition."

Bumbut said his father, Ghita, and mother, Marianne, played professional soccer and volleyball in his hometown of Zalau, Romania, during his childhood. His parents' success pushed him to replicate it.
