The gathering place for LU alumni to wax nostalgic about their glory days and tell current students how easy they have it. Old hags & bright-eyed and bushytailed recent grads both welcome.

It appears we have another sportscaster among our alumni (which was interesting based on me interviewing him regularly back in the day when he was with the Cowboys). LU's most celebrated WR alum is doing sports talk in South Florida.
James McKnight Q&A

Former Dolphins receiver James McKnight, a 10-year NFL veteran, answers readers' questions in Sun-Sentinel.com's weekly Q&A sessions with former Dolphins. Below are McKnight's responses:

Q: Hey James, with the Dolphins playing in London against the Giants, I couldn't help but remember your 68-yard touchdown run off a reverse against the Giants a few years ago. Was that your most memorable moment with the Dolphins? Hayden Bromfield, Walnut Creek, CA

A: "Well Hayden, that run was definitely one of my favorite plays as a Dolphin. However, another one of my most memorable moments was when we were playing the Buffalo Bills and I had a couple of key blocks for Ricky Williams on his way to back-to-back, 250-yard rushing games. The other one was when I caught a five-yard out pass from Brian Greise, picked up a block from ex-Dolphin Chris Chambers, and raced up the sideline for an 80-yard TD."
And here is a question from another LU alum:
Q: James, I am a Liberty University alumni who watched you play many games and I can truly say that you were GREAT to watch! I do not know if I can watch another Dolphin game that keeps a quarterback who obviously is NOT the future of the Dolphins. All the while John Beck sits on the sidelines watching? We need to see him NOW! Richard Albury, The Bahamas

A: "Although I understand that Cleo Lemon deserves a fair chance, I am like the rest of South Florida in thinking the sooner we see John Beck the better. Not that I am sold that he is the future of the franchise, I'd just want to know the answer to that question before my first pick in the draft. The way things are going so far this season, it could be the first or second pick."
And this is the tagline:
James McKnight can be heard locally on 850 (AM) WFTL Sunday afternoons, and on the Web at www.850wftl.com.

Too bad we can't bring him back to Lynchburg and have McKnight and GMTM replace Rich & Larry on The Sportsline: maybe that way, we'd finally get some LU sports talk on that radio show.

Now that Gado is in Miami, I no longer have my excuses to drop Liberty references on the air here in Houston. But that doesn't stop me from trying.

Its great to see James found a niche after football.
