The gathering place for LU alumni to wax nostalgic about their glory days and tell current students how easy they have it. Old hags & bright-eyed and bushytailed recent grads both welcome.

For those who only know Scar as the man behind the mic on FTN telecasts, here's what he looked like back as player close to two decades ago:

I'm sure Scar is busy now trying to get that picture he has of his supposedly monster dunk scanned. The countdown is on.

he claims he has a POSTER size version in his home office. I have yet to see it, convieniently enough we never make it over to stately Scarborough Manor to see if it exists.

The dunk probably occurred WHEN the lights were out- 'cause I was there and don't recall this supposed feat of engineering.

He only brought it up 3xs last weekend- and that was during a hockey game. And I had to tell SMOOTHIE and GIMMETHEMIC how SCAR wore it high and tight, and had the big 'ol clock around his neck- Public Enemy style.

proud, proud, proud we are

Well I must say that it is true, everytime which is like once a week I am at the Scarborough Mansion... He pulls that big 12 piece bucket of KFC Chicken out and even brings out the Cole Slaw!!! too. If you ask nicely he will provide some barbaque sauce.

Sly you are killing me man. Where did you get that pic? I actually have that one in my scrap book. I remember the game well. It was against Mt St. Mary's. That is cool. I only have a poster size of the dunk. I used to have a 4x6 but it is missing from my collection. Medic, you should have come over to Stately Scarborough Manor and you would have seen the poster size dunk in the closet. Mrs. Scar has not let me hang it up in the rec room. GMTM has seen it but I don't know if I ever bothered to show him the video. Man what memories....As far as the legs? 37 inch vertical with those thighs but I will never have that body again. Way, way too old. For the record I used to squat about 530 for reps of 3-5 and I leg pressed 730 10 times back then. Those numbers (including the vertical) are way, down! No comment on the shorts or the Hair cut. Rumors about the clock around the neck may or may not be true....Yeeeeeaaaah Boooooooyyyeeeeeee!!!

BTW Sly, I have your yearbook picture and I showed gmtm a few weeks ago. We had a pretty decent laugh at all the pictures but yours was funny because we know you :). I don't have a scanner but I would love to show some of the guys pictures from the old days on here. If you have the yearbooks from back then, hook us up with some more theads.

You must've done some serious searching to find me in any pics. I made it a habit of avoiding cameras back then (kind of ironic now, huh?). Could you see my mullet in the pic?

I have the Selahs from '86-88. If there's something that interests you to post on here just let me know.

All this talk of Scarborough Manor makes me want to check out your place SCAR. I mean being one of GMTM's cronies ought to count for something.

BJ, "its my house...But your welcome Anytime". - Stephen A. Smith. Seriously, Stately Scarborough Manor is greatly over rated. Medic just likes to call it that because the name Scarborough makes it sound like a snooty bed and breakfast. Medic has never even seen it :D. So don't expect to see the Falwell Mansion or anything cause you will be extremely disappointed. I will try to have a gathering soon...Maybe a Superbowl Party? A SMALL Superbowl Party. If Smoothie is in town I am sure he will be at the manor rooting for his mighty Steelers!

Sly, I think I showed him your headshot and YES the Mullet is in full effect!

Sly, I must say that was quite impressive....BJ it took me years to be welcomed into SCAR's 10,000 Square foot de-la-casa... I mean it's so big everytime I pull up I see Deer running wild almost like a petting zoo outside... inside, well it's like something you would see on MTV Cribs... SCAR is definitely a balla.... But there is nothing better than Mrs. SCAR's cookies nothing tops them... trust me... Well it's off to High Point and then BSU tomorrow no more school untill next Monday hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy, I don't know what house gmtm is visiting but it is not mine :D . My crib is really nothing to talk about but we like it. I remember when we moved back to Lynchburg, everyone asked what Zip code we were and we told them 24503 and everyone looked at us like we were fancy pants! Turns out we actually live in 24502 and our pants are not very fancy  ...Smoothie I see you have been here so much that we needed to rename the Toomer Suite. Actually Toomer has not even been to the Toomer suite in this house yet so I guess I am good with renaming it the Smoothie Suite. Anyway, enough about the house...I may have a gathering for the Big Game but I promise it won't be very large. Mrs SCAR doesn't like to entertain large crowds. But I am sure she will let me have a few "cyber nerds" over :D

yeah that 24503 deal is crap. i used tolive in that zip code in the burg for a long time, and i was not even close to big money. it is a great area of town to live in though.

speaking of your crap neigborhood, has anybody noticed that 24501 runs from like peaks veiw park to madison heights? It's a very big, oddly shaped zip code.

(I was just joking about your neighborhood. I only know where 01 and 06 are.)

Just looked at a map. 03=boonsboro. That place is like living in your own world. My wife works for a lot of those folks and they act like they're aristocrats or something and we're all the peons. I don't think they venture out of their zip code that often.

When I was in school the city used to brag about being in the top ten lists for most millionaires per capita in America. Most of them residing in Boonsboro. The radio station I worked for my last year and a half in Lynchburg was located right in the middle of one of the smaller neighborhoods in Boonsboro. There was old money everywhere. It seemed like nobody worked. The golf course was packed all day long everyday. I understand now why there is an air of pretention associated with the zip.

Well if that is the case Sly I am glad my zip is 24502. I don't want anyone mistaking the Scarborough's for millionaires (even if we become that one day  ) Our neighborhood is near Boonsboro so that is why even our realtor thought we were 03.

times have changed a bit. yes their are some snooty people in the boonsboro area, but some good people live there. a lot of the old money has died, and a lot of young families are there now. my old street in boonsboro used to have a ton a blue hairs, but recently when i wnt back it is mostly young families now. the same has been said for many of the people in forest about being snooty.

Forest was new money when I was in school. Other than the one development around the lake (it slips my mind) there weren't many new subdivisions out there yet. But I get the feeling that has changed immensely.
