The gathering place for LU alumni to wax nostalgic about their glory days and tell current students how easy they have it. Old hags & bright-eyed and bushytailed recent grads both welcome.

I've just posted an oldschool Scaremare PSA from either 1988 or 1989. I produced it and I think if my old hag memory isn't completely shot the talent is James Chapman. All of the second channel audio is missing, so ne sreaming or yelling or sound effects or music. I need to figure that out. I guess the transfer from 3/4" tape to DVD didn't go as well as I thought. See if you know anyone in the video. Bonus points if anyone can name the voice that is briefly on during the slate at the beginning. It was left over from a adily campus calender piece we did. Sly should know.

Now THAT was funny!!! I can almost place the voice, definately familiar. But after 3 listens, I am not sure. I was gonna guess Robbie Hiner, but on the third listen, I decided that was not right. Familiar faces, but no one I can name. I would guess that tape is from 1989, because I got there in 1989, and I recognize most of the faces. I think I might know the person digging the grave just by the build and knowing that is what he did at Scaremare, but that is all.

It sure was fun though. Thanks for putting it on here!!!

I know the guy that played Sam Dunn but that wasn't his real name was it? Also the voice at the beginning is familiar but I can't tell if it is male or female. I decided it was male but couldn't figure it out.

I believe it was James Chapman (Sam Dunn). The voice at the beginning is a male, but I'll hold off on the name to see if Sly knows!

Yes it was James Chapman. He was actually a friend of mine but I am 40 now and can't remember too many things well.

Wow it has been so many years since I have talked with him but Sly talks with him all the time. No fair  . Thanks for posting that though Knuckle. Do you have any old footage from back in the day from football or basketball? I know LBN used to shoot footage at certain games even if they weren't on TV. I would love to see that stuff.

I don't have any of that. Others on here may have that access. I actually have a 1/2 hour special I did for my senior project. It was a sort of documentary on the football team featuring Leroy Kinard, Johnny Woods, and crud I can't remember the 3rd guys name. He was a DB I think and on the track team as well, NO.16. Got all of that but no name. Anyway if I can find somewhere to host 32 minutes, I'll put that up too. Any ideas.

I believe 16 was Eric Carroll. I haven't talked with him in years but 3 weeks ago we found each other on Linkedin. That is a networking website for professionals. I have seen a few LU people on there since I joined a month ago.

That clip should be from 1988, as I was head of make up that year and recognize the work. I was a room captain in '89, and don't place the room scenes from the clip in that year. The clip matches up with some newspaper photos I have from 1988 also. Thanks for bringing back some great memories!!

Welcome to the board, partof8infl. If you spin through the posts around here you'll probably find plenty of names and events that bring back a flood of memories.

I warn you in advance that when you see the term "Old Hag" tossed around here it is a self-deprecating term those of us that remember the 70s & 80s far too well brought on ourselves. Its all in good fun.

Scar, I believe Eric Carroll was from the Richmond area though I do not know if he is still in your area. I was his RA. He used to make fun of my white man's underwear. I guess I was never into fashion like him.

I know he is in Richmond now because he just found me on Linkedin. I believe Eric Carroll is from this area though since my wife works with one of his classmates from high school.
