ROANOKE RAPIDS - Two new journalists have joined the Daily Herald bringing unique talents and backgrounds to the paper's editorial staff.
Richard Gould moves to the Roanoke Valley with his family from Oregon.
He just completed his master's degree in magazine writing at the University of Oregon. He became hooked on the idea of writing for a newspaper while working during the summer at the Ghanaian Times in Accra, Ghana.
Originally from Florida, Gould graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., with a degree in English language and literature.
He and his wife have three children and are expecting a fourth soon.
