Any guesses as to who put your name on the LU Alumni part of Liberty's wikipedia page?

I think the lack of citation on that item speaks volumes.

that FU thing has been around for years and is one of those Liberty rumors that you know isn't true...but if they ever did change the name to Falwell University that would make sporting events so much more fun....chanting FU instead of LU...you think this would draw more kids to the games?? Maybe this should be looked into...haha

FU 1 time, FU 2 times, FU 3 times...FU ALL THE TIME!!!

OK, so is this just an urban legend, or was Dr. Falwell really considering this, and then this fact was pointed out to him? I know to take a lot of Wiki with a grain of salt.

Granted, I was -3 when the university was founded but everything I've heard says this is an urban legend.

I think there was a better chance of us being called Moral Majority U or OTGH University than Falwell U. Its not Jerry's style.

Cool for the four years you were in the school, then a *word outside of the Liberty Way* (to quote SJ) when you tried to get a job after graduation outside of "christian" circles.

Hey, if Wikipedia says that LU could have been named FU, then it must be correct.

"Wikipedia: Celebrating 650 years of American Independence."

I mean, some wiseguy put on wikipedia that Auto Racing Champion Dick Trickle received an honorary doctorate.

(okay, that was me).

And for the record, when Liberty started it was "Lynchburg Baptist College," followed by "Liberty Baptist College." If Falwell lent his name to it, the school abbreviation would have initially been "FBC." It wasn't until yeeeears after the school was founded that "L" got it's "U".

1985, to be exact.

1985-the year I was born...little did I or anyone know at the time I'd be graduating from the newly christened LU in 2007.
