Hughesville grad works at the White House



Matthew M. Poeth, a 1999 graduate from Hughesville High School, was offered a provisional position at the White House, Executive Office of the President, Council on Environmental Quality in Washington, D.C.

In 2003, Poeth graduated from Lycoming College with a bachelor’s degree and a double major in philosophy and religion. Earlier this summer he received a master’s degree in education from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va.

Poeth will assist the Bush administration on policy issues affiliated with environmental quality. Some projects he is currently aiding in are Louisiana Coastal Restoration, Florida Everglades Restoration, California Levee System Analysis, the quality of the Great Lakes and improving Waterway Systems throughout the United States.

I realy need to do sme homework re. grad. degrees. Matthew was trained in philosophy religion, and education and ened up helping to improve the environment.
