A lifelong Greenville resident, he finally gave up.

"I couldn't find a place to connect with people my age," says the 29-year-old Almond, a graduate of Bob Jones Academy and North Greenville University.

Jeremy Spurling, a Syracuse, N.Y., native and Liberty University graduate who relocated to Greenville six years ago, ran into the same problem. After landing a job with the St. Francis Health System, he liked everything about Greenville -- except the fact that meeting other 20-ish singles usually required a trip to a bar.

"A lot of people are sick of the bar scene; they're looking for something different," says Spurling. "That's why we're trying to provide something to meet those needs."
