The gathering place for LU alumni to wax nostalgic about their glory days and tell current students how easy they have it. Old hags & bright-eyed and bushytailed recent grads both welcome.

With his son playing TE for us, I'm sure Coach Jones knows what is going on in Lynchburg. Here is what is happening in his world ...

Greg Clark came to play and stay when the San Diego Wildcats of the American Basketball Association were formed.

Now they are ready for their third season together.
And here is where Zack comes into the picture ...
The team has added continuity with the return of General Manager and coach Zack Jones, who assumed both duties last season returning to San Diego after a stint as an assistant at Liberty University.

Jones, a former coach at Horizon High, serves as executive director of Rock Sports, which includes middle and high school programs.

“Zack brings a lot of discipline,” Clark said, “and you can see the results.”

The Rock.

It's a school so new that when you dial 411 and ask for The Rock Academy, you elicit confusion instead of a phone number.

The Rock may not be well-known among information operators, but the two-year-old high school is attracting attention through its boys basketball team.

With 48 students in grades nine through 12, it is one of the smallest schools in the San Diego Section. Yet The Rock's basketball team has lost only two games this season – both to Frontier League-rival Maranatha Christian.

The high school is new, but The Rock's coach is a veteran. Zack Jones, who built a dynasty at Horizon, serves as athletic director and basketball coach. Jones' assistant is Waheed Mitchell, his son, who continued the dynasty at Horizon. The two combined to lead the Panthers to the past seven section Division IV titles.
