A Sea Of Red

Notre Dame graduate and elite runner Ryan Shay dies in trials race this morning. He was close friends with the race winner, Ryan Hall who had been training with Cox, Meb, and Dan Browne. (see 01LU references in T&F thread from Josh Cox's site.)

He and his wife were married not too long ago...he was 28 years old. A very sad day for the running community.

I heard about this right when I was discussing Marathons with a friend who just finished one. Sad day for them indeed.
