Prayer for my Grandmother

Guys and Gals--

If you think about it, take a few minutes to pray for my grandparents. My grandmother has been fighting Parkinson's disease for over 30 years and while she has been able to manage it for many years, she is standing on her last legs. She has begun to skip taking her medicine, some days flat-out refusing. She had a stroke a couple days ago and after she is released from the hospital, she'll be put in a nursing home. My grandfather simply cannot care for her any longer.

While you're in prayer for her, if you could also remember him. I talked with him this afternoon and he's just tore up inside. I can only imagine being married for 55 years only to not be able to take care of her any longer. I'll be flying there with my mother on Thursday to do whatever we can to make the transition easier.

I'd appreciate any prayers that could be sent. Mostly that God would just comfort my family. I think most of us are prepared for my grandmother's passing just because due to the nature of her condition, she's stopped being the grandma/mother/friend we've all known. I just want her to be at peace and the beautiful thing is that she will soon be in glory with a perfect mind and body. Thanks in advance--I've got to know a lot of you and consider you friends, and I know she will be covered in prayer.

I think we can all relate to this situation on some level. I'm saying a prayer in Houston right now.

WE are all either where you are or headed that way it seems. Our prayers are with the entire family. My wifes mother has been battling alzheimers for a number of years and it developed very early with her. The Plateaus in the condition are a blessing the the progression just tears your heart. It's a rollercoaster to say the least be sure to take advantage of any support groups you can and hang tight as a family we all go through life together no need to go it alone. God bless!

We will be praying in Florida also. Family is such a blessing, but all hurt when one hurts.

Prayers from Portsmouth as well...I watched my grandmother slowly get worse from her Parkinson's...its one of the toughest things to watch someone you are very close to look like they are just wasting away before your eyes...

Prayers from Lynchburg, too. I know how tough it was on my grandmother during my grandpa's battles.
