I just started a small group study called "Gripped by the Greatness of God." Its by James McDonald. So far its great. I was wondering.

Anyone else have any recommendations. Something either for small group, or devotions or both.

I'm not talking books or devotionals like My Utmost.., Streams in the Dessert..., I'm thinking of something that's gets you studying the WORD.

What do you guys like?

a good book to study would be "The Barbarian Way" by Erwin McManus

i just went through 1 peter with some guys. i'd be happy to send you my notes. i had them memorize a verse from 1 peter that summarized the whole book, in addition to going through each chapter in detail. it was a good book to study...

The Gospel of John, Believe and Live by Dr Elmer Towns. I had the course during LBC, everything in the course is from this book. I also recently bought the book. You can get it at Christianbook.com

The John book is also on half.com for something like $10.

I'm taking the John course DLP right now. So far it's a pretty decent book.
