I would love to be down there espically this weekend for a very emotional commencement and service Sunday. The influx of people coming down I am sure will grow by the day. I can easily see 15,000 at the memorial service Tuesday

I would be surprised if there weren't at least 25k at the service. I wish I could be among them as well.

I'm going to be driving in from Farmville for the service...this upcoming commencement is definitely not the one I had envisioned.

I will be there Tuesday, I don't care if they don't let me off work or not. I hope to make it to one of the viewings as well.

Well they did let me off, without much of a fuss. If they wouldn't have, I would have just told them, I'm sorry but I won't be here Tuesday. I'm glad I don't have to do that though.

Cspan likes to show events like this as well...the Liberty Channel and our new local station that we own channel 24, might show it as well.

We technically don't own WDRL quite yet (still pending FCC approval on the sale). But since we lease it I would expect us to be airing it live on there as well.

Can anyone in the Burg tell us how things are going and about the crowds that are gathering at the DeMoss building? Pictures would be nice too. I just want to feel like I am a part of the celebration of Jerry's life even though I am out of the country and cannot be where I want to right now.

I haven't been back to campus since 8:30 this morning, but even then, P2 (by the Rot) was crowded. All of the staff in lower P1 and by DeMoss are having to park there. They have police officers at two intersections (probably more now).

I was just down there (I didn't go in DeMoss) but the traffic cops are still busy. The DeMoss lot is still roped off, obviously, but it looks like some of the foot traffic has died down. Of course, that probably has a lot to do with the lunch hour. It seems to be an odd mix right now of kids and their parents leaving campus and well-wishers and media-types coming onto campus.
