Dr. Fink

For those of you in the religion department or have graduated, Dr. Fink, who basically trained the entire religion department and has been a mentor personally for me and thousands of others, is having some serious health issues.
At 77, the three major arteries to his heart -- 2 of them are 100% blocked and 1 is 50-75% blocked. Combined with other health issues, not a great situation. Medic could probably chime in a little better than me.
Anyway, pray that his health will be sustained and that the Dr. will find a solution.

no- you pretty much summed that one up.
Coronary artery blocks are no joke- and the risk factor/poss complications with catheterization on a 77 yr old is a lot higher than your average 45-65 yr old
serious situation there- let us know how he does

I'll certainly be praying for Dr. Fink. He was a tough prof, but only because he cared.

Actually, I have.. some profs here at LU would disagree with the statement. Anyway, just a testament to the work that Fink has done through this school. John McArthur called him "the greatest trainer of pastors in America" -- that is high praise.

His grandchildren attend my school here in Michigan. He and his wife came up for Thanksgiving last year. It was really cool to talk with them. I had both of them for classes at Liberty. His grandchildren are great kids!
I will be praying!

I have mentioned his (attempted) influence in my life. When they discontinued the Children's ministries major, he suggested I go with ELMED or Nursing- why I then went with a general HUEC-now Family and Consumer Sciences- I don't know (but will discuss my suspicions in another thread some other time).
I was very concerned while reading this almost a month late. Any more news? Prayers from me.

Almost 2 decades later I'm faced with the choice of whether or not to go into nursing- my husband found an ad for a cert. program which could lead to a Masters in Nursing w/out having the undergrad.... We'll have to start a "career counseling" thread again (since you guys talked me out of law school a while ago).
