my great grandad is 85 and he lives in Durham in not the greatest area. someone knocked on his door this morning and ask if he could rake the leaves, he said no. then the dude pushed his way in and tried to cut my great grandads throat with a box cutter. he fought the dude off and is ok, but the guy took his keys, car, and a little bit of money. he is really shook up though. pray that we can make a good decision on whether he needs to move or not, and pray for protection

I will pray they catch the scumbag that did that...
...and that your family is able to find a safer place for him to live.

I will pray for your great grand dad for his safety and peace of mind. This reminds me of the marines landing on Iwo Jima and a marine saw his chaplain with a 45 on his hip. The young marine asked the chaplain didn't he believe in God and prayer. The chaplain responded "Yes, but this is quicker".

Unfortunately it seems physical attacks on the elderly is on the rise. This is becoming all to common. Once upon a time people held respect for their elders even if they were robbing them.
On a positive, if I ever live to be 85 I hope I have the spunk and power to fend off an attacker like your grandfather. He sounds like an amazing man. I'm glad to hear he's physically OK and I'll pray for his state of mind.
