I caught wind on this on Facebook (a group started against it) so apparently a Randy Mac prof started this challenge to get people to video them denouncing God and putting it on youtube....just thought I'd share...it's getting some national coverage

Riiiight.
I don't think I've seen anything so needlessly dumb in quite a while. But, stupidity problems aside, the whole concept of this thing assumes that God defines blaspheming the Holy Spirit in exactly the same way that these yahoos do. Blasphemy is already something of an abstract concept and I'm not sure that simply denying His existence even qualifies. Honestly, if these guys are hell-bent on...well, hell, then they're really just not trying hard enough.

I saw this on the local news the other night. A quote from the group who started it: "We won't end this until Christianity ends."
Also note that these folks are behind EndChristmas.com and the Atheist haven, RationalResponders.com
They are part of a resurgence of Atheism being pushed on the biggest social "Web 2.0" sites right now. (MySpace, YouTube, Digg.com) They're using these tools hoping to reach as many kids as possible, as early as possible.
They're lead by Richard Dawkins, who recently spoke in Lynchburg. You can read about him here:

Holy crap, Dr. Caner went off last night at campus church. That dude is fired up. He's put out an open invitation to everyone behind the Blasphemy Challenge to get their best minds and meet him on the mountain. The only rules are that they have to use logic and agree that the Bible is a really old book. No money will be made, and everyone will be polite.
If you can, find the podcast of last nights sermon. Saying it was good is an understatement.
