I have a friend and her middle school child has really taken an interest in God.
She is wanting to be directed to podcasts or other media that may interest him.

(author of 'This Changes Everything' and her dad)

In the Word, On the Go
(short episodes with various pastors/theologians focusing on 1 verse of Scripture)

The Westminster Shorter Catechism with Sinclair Ferguson
(each episode is Ferguson reading 1 question & answer at a time. you don't have to be Presbyterian to benefit from this)

The Bible Project makes great youtube videos that seem like they would be middle-school accessible. They go more in depth on their podcast (which I love) but the youtube channel would be a great place to start and probably more kid-friendly.

Great suggestion. I had forgotten about these videos, but they are really good.
