I am flying out tomorrow to head to Texas for 5 weeks for some training. First extended time away from the wife since we had our baby in December. The class is cake for me, but more prayers for my wife in balancing day to day things and a 6 month old baby.

Thanks guys!

As a dad who travels for long periods of time myself, I fully appreciate the challenges. I'm praying right now in Texas.

Thanks guys...waiting in Dallas right now for my connection to Wichita Falls. It took less than a second to see my first cowboy hat...I love when stereotypes are true, haha

Seriously though the prayers are appreciated more than you know

There are no shortage of cowboy hats in Wichita Falls. One of our friends is there today for a graduation at the base.

I used to spend a week or so every summer in Wichita Falls covering Cowboys Camp (yeah, it was as bad as you imagine) and the heat is relentless. They have a cycling race there called the 'Hotter N Hell 100'. When I passed through there last summer the thermometer in our car measured 116.

On the positive side, they have great Braums shakes in Wichita Falls and you can claim to be a Texan for a few weeks.

I'm going to be there for 5 weeks without a rental so my options are kind of limited. I know a couple people there that I haven't seen in years so hopefully we can hook up. I wish I had a car though so I could explore the area during the downtime.

There's not much to explore. You'll be fine.
