Death of a student

On Thursday, April 21, one of my students was struck by a car and died as a result of her injuries. The student was a 13-year-old girl named Kelly Valentine. This happened over Spring break. Needless to say, the next few days at school are going to be very difficult. The viewing is tomorrow evening and the funeral is on Tuesday.

Please pray for the Valentine family and the students at Great Bridge Middle School during this extremely difficult time. I am anticipating many opportunities to share my faith with students and parents over the next week or so. Pray that God speaks through me (I sure don't know what to say on my own!). My name is Brent, by the way.

very sorry to hear this...

such a tragedy when a young one loses their life.

I'm sure there is a purpose but it's so hard to see it.

God Bless Kelly's family and friends

Ugh. I just got back from the visitation. I feel so badly that these kids have had to grow up so fast over the past few days. On the positive side, I have had very good conversations with several of the kids and they are asking some pretty important questions. I am feeling the prayers, so keep them coming! Tomorrow's funeral is going to be especially difficult.
