According to Jonathan on Facebook about a half hour ago,

Please pray for the Randlett family. Dave Randlett, TRBC Sr. Assoc. Pastor, is in the presence of the Lord.

This hits me really hard. I came to LU as a music ed. major in 74, and the first year or 2 probably half of my classes were with Dr. Randlett, in addition to singing in groups he directed. I am now dreading the phone call I need to make to my mom, who sang in the OTGH choir for 25 years and considered him to be as much her pastor as Jerry and Jonathon.

Yeah, he & Doug were both major players in the early days of LBC/LU from a musical perspective.

Praying for his family.

Dave was a big fan of LU sports, especially basketball. I can't remember being at many games at the Vines when I didn't see him across the way on the Baptist side about 20 rows up or so.

Hopefully one of the the heavenly choirs has an opening for a good director.
