Our Christian foundation is what makes our university unique. This is the place to bring prayer requests, discuss theological issues and how to become better Champions for Christ.

Hey guys, I just wanted to make a thread praising God for His work in my life, specifically in the $$$ area.

I'm working as an intern for about $800 a month. Rent in Tampa is $500, with the electricity bringing it to around $560. We get a $150 buffer from our landlord, but somehow we use $400 worth of electricity :?: . I'm also paying for CC courses to finish up my degree - around $200 a month. As you can see - I'm not making ends meet. $800 - $760....for food and gas just can't happen. Anyway, I saved up money from the summer and was able to make it through the first month of the semester, but going into last week I knew I was going to be short. Even with all the plasma donating and free meals SecretShoppering can get you, I was still down about $100.

I spent a lot of time worrying and a bit less in prayer. I considered putting this up here, but the last thing I want is to think I'm trying to pull a money grab from flamefans. On a side note - I started listening to a Christian radio station here in Tampa and they are obnoxious during their "Give us money week." They had phone ringing sounds interrupting every song. Brutal.

Anyway, so two days ago(rent is already late), I got $50 from my Grandpa. Still short, but at least I'm close. Well, yesterday my aunt called and said she had a good quarter and wanted to send me some $$$. I figure it can cover the rest I owe this month. Well, it turns out it's a check for $500. I really don't know what to do other than to put it on here and encourage you to remember that God always provides for the ones who serve him.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Thanks for sharing good news! And don't be shy about bringing prayer requests here. All of us (including yours truly) have had tight times at some point and we get the challenges. It is amazing how God provides even when we have no idea how it can happen. I think back to when I was laid off twice and look back with amazement how God helped us not only to survive when we had no idea how it could happen but also how He used the trying times to have a major positive impact on our family. Thanks for the reminder to praise Him for current & past blessings.

Yeah it really is amazing. Shortly after my wife and I got married we were struggling to make ends meet and we didnt have any money for groceries. Well, out of nowhere when we down to our last bit of food we got a card in the mail from one of my wife's aunts and she had a $100 gift card to Wal Mart. For no reason just that God had put us on her heart. It's really amazing how awesome He is.

Well fellows, your stories about God providing when you think all hope is lost, like what are we going to eat. Reminds me of his promise in scripture, I cannot recall the verse, but it goes like this. The righteous will not be begging for food.

God does provide.

After having our son, he had some heart issues and a lot of extra bills we weren't anticipating started coming and we quickly burned through our savings. The day we emptied the last bit of what we had saved up, I looked at our bank account and someone in my family had added $200 to my bank account.
