Many of the old timers may remember Dr. David Sprague who taught in the COMS Dept. in the 1980s-1990s. His wife just informed the SOC that Dr. Sprague passed away:
Dave passed away suddenly Sunday, August 1...Dave was diagnosed late last year with a form of chronic lymphocytic leukemia...In the last two weeks he became quite fatigued, and Sunday he became quite ill. At the ER they discovered a major lymphoma tumor in his abdomen. He was very anemic and went downhill very quickly. He coded just as they got him up to ICU. Since the tumor was not discovered before, we're guessing it was a very aggressive tumor that grew very quickly.
It was perfect timing for Dave. He had not needed the chemo treatments yet, and he was uncomfortable less than 24 hours. I am glad he did not know about the lymphoma. We are having a memorial service Monday, Aug. 9 at Village Baptist Church in Beaverton. If anyone is interested in making a gift, a donation can be made to Village Baptist Church (our church) or to West Hills Christian School in Portland ( our granddaughters' school).
