Flames in Military Service Roll Call -- Prayers for Troops

Hey I was just thinking, we have a ministry roll call, but what if we were to start a troop prayer list in the same fashion? Im not sure about how many troops we have active on the board, I know Kuntryboimike, sure theres probably others. Just thought itd be nice to know where they are serving (or generic whereabouts) and prayer needs, etc. Rather than having to do a new post each time.

My stats may be a little off, but I think I remember hearing recently that LU Online has around 15,000 active duty students, which is even larger than the resident civilian population on campus.

Great idea, rueful, to learn more about our military students and to pray for all those in harm's way.

I posted this on Facebook and now here:
Please be in prayer for one of our former Flames, Brady Hassell ’09, who sustained injuries today, while serving with the Angel Company 3-187, Infantry Company 101st Air Assault Division in Afghanistan. We still do not know the extent of his injuries but he is currently in a hospital in Afghanistan. Brady was able to call his mother and is in pretty good spirits. His buddy, Eric Kohlman, wasn’t as fortunate so please be in prayer for him as he was sent to Germany and had to go through a 12 hr. operation to reconstruct his face with probably more surgeries to come. We will continue to keep you posted on Brady’s condition as soon as we get more information. Your prayers are greatly appreciated for these two young men as well as their immediate family members.
Thank you!

I'm in the Air Force..but far from anything that should be thanked..I have yet to deploy and my job is far from dangerous...but there are so many people I have come into contact with that have been through some crap and its amazing the sacrifices they have made, very admirable that is for sure..I could go on with story upon story but its amazing some of the things people do..something I really didn't appreciate until I enlisted.

I don't know if I announced it on here or not yet. But I am officially home and no longer active duty 8) I'm back to being a weekend warrior. 10 months in Iraq was enough for me hopefully I don't get deployed again! I know the Lynchburg guys are home after being in Iraq for like...4 months or something like that? But I think that unit deploys more than any other in VA.

My younger brother, Justin, has recently enlisted in the Marines.

Prayers for him are much appreciated.
