In the Ministry Roll call thread I alluded to the fact Im looking for a new Youth Pastor Position, and right now I am going through the candidacy process with a couple of churches. Some are further along in the process than others, one church im scheduling a visit with while others im just getting to the phone interview process, etc. etc.
Anyways, I could use some prayer for Direction and assurance in making a decision, just that God would clearly shut the doors that should be shut and make wide Open the Door that is the right one. Thanks, it would mean alot

You can count on prayers here in Houston.
So many churches are in the laying off scenario that those few openings are highly competitive.

They are, and I dont have a very impressive resume. However, every church that im in talks with has said that the mere presence of Liberty under schooling puts me at or close to the top of the list. So thats pretty awesome news for Liberty grads going into ministry, or those already in ministry.

If you don't have any practical experience, I'd recommend doing an internship before jumping in. It will be a big help and look good on a resume.

i have almost three years of practical paid experience. Its more so that the churches ive worked at have all been 100 or less people and im applying to some churches that are closer to 500. I went to a youth groupd of 500 though, and was a key student leader for three years, so I feel confident i can handle a larger youth group that is closer to 80 kids

I feel like God is pointing me towards one of the churches in specific, and I have an interview with them on Tuesday if you could keep that in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated

Pending the vote this coming Sunday, I will be getting this job, which is a huge answer to prayers. If anyone wants to buy a house to invest in in Lynchburg thats already full of renters, let me know, that would be another huge answer of prayers as I begin to start planning to move halfway across the country.

Is Trenton considered suburban St. Louis yet or is it still rural?
Congrats on the position!

It was country town back int he day when I knew the area. But with suburban sprawl wondered if it now was in the metro. Its obviously better if its not since you get the best of both worlds.

kudos- hoping they have the internet there so you can keep up with your posting duties on here.
if not, I'd suggest you dictate your posts to SJ over the phone
