Terry Falwell was playing racquetball last Wednesday and apparently sustained a pretty serious eye injury. He went to the emergency room who sent him to a specialist. The specialist determined that the eye was filling w/ blood but wanted to see if it could clear up on its own. It didn't so, this morning, Terry is in Charlottesville undergoing a surgical procedure to "wash" the blood out of the eye. The doctor is very experience but the procedure does carry some risk. I'm sure Terry and his family would appreciate your prayers.

Thanks to Bob Good for keeping us updated.

on a positive note- I am living proof of the fact that, with proper intervention and follow-up care, even a serious ocular injury CAN and WILL heal rapidly and fully.

Per Bob Good:

Everyone,

Terry had what appears to have been successful surgery this morning, and seems to be doing reasonably well. He will have a check-up tomorrow morning, and hopefully is on the way to a full recovery.

Thanks from him for your prayers.

Wow, what a tough summer for the Falwells. I'm glad to hear the surgery went well. That's the type of injury that certainly stops you in your tracks until its resolved.

Again, from Bob Good:

Terry is recovering from the surgery that he had this past Friday, but the blood in his eye has not cleared up as much as they had hoped it would by this point. They will continue to observe it over the next few days, at which time he will have to have more major surgery if it does not clear up on its own.

Please continue to pray for his healing.

Thanks!

I caught up with Terry driving around campus this morning. He's doing a lot better and the docs think his vision will eventually return to normal.
