Two vans of youth from our church were headed north to Passport Camp in Wenham, MA, when our one church van broke down on I-81 North in Frackville, PA. We're currently in a Holiday Inn, waiting for a van to get a water pump installed. Hopefully, we'll be back on the road by sometime this afternoon.

Van is mostly fixed, but they will replace the serpentine tomorrow morning and test drive it before we head farther north to Mass. Spent the day at the mall in Frackville, PA (popl. 4,000) and had dinner at Pizza Hut in neighboring Pottsville. The 14 kids are in very good spirits, inspite being late for youth camp.

Hopefully things are improving.

Anybody else see the irony in the location of this misfortune?

Isn't Frackville that little town right at the very top of the ridge along the interstate? If it's the place I'm thinking, I stopped and ate there once on the way to Maine and I remebered thinking that winter must be atrocious there. It was mid-July and the temperature was around 60 in the afternoon.

Exactly, on both counts (Rogers3 & Medic's). Neighboring Pottsville has the scariest looking prison that I've ever seen in my life: google image it or look at my facebook pics of it. I guess the original name of Frackville was "Mountain City" but for whatever reason they changed the name to "Frackville" instead. It's in Schuykill County, PA.

Now, whenever something goes wrong, the youth blurt out, "Oh, Frack!"

We finally made it to Gordon College yesterday at 6:30 p.m., thanks to a $1500 water pump. Thanks to all for your prayers. We're a day late, but we're here to do missions in inner city, Lynn, Mass, for the rest of the week.

Gordon College, if I remember correctly, that's where we have our Centrifuge youth camp every year for the Northeast. They have a great ropes course there.
