A Sea Of Red

I need help finding this verse. I don't know a lot about it but came across it one time before. Sorry if its vague.

Even those who are educated can be fools. Those who are wise can be poor and how life is full of these opportunities that decide these things.

Just found it:

Ecc 9:11

I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn't always win the race, the strongest warrior doesn't always win the battle. The wise sometimes goes hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those educated don't always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.


I love that message right there!

So it's saying that luck is a real thing?

Ecclesiastes is such a nice change of pace after Proverbs. One book says live wisely and be rewarded and the next says live wisely and things might not work out for you anyway.

It's something everyone needs to hear from the greatest of athletes to just well educated people. Just b/c you're dubbed as the next Lebron James doesnt mean it will work out for you, there are a lot of variables that will come into play. Not to mention those who may graduate from places like Harvard and think the rest will be smooth sailing....it just doesnt work like that
