There is nothing wrong with the protecting the environment. We are to be good stewards. No matter how you feel about global warming it can only do good to find ways to make this world a cleaner and greener place. With the global population rising it is important to protect our natural resources the best we can.

I think this is actually refreshing and we should distribute it to some of the morons I sat in science class with here at Liberty that kept saying "Jesus is coming back soon, so the environment really doesn't matter."

We can only benefit from having a greener world.

1. This means more people will be reading it.
2. God does call us to be good stewards of the Earth, and that includes its resources. I'm not anti-logging, but we should be replanting the trees we cut down, and it is nice to have clean air to breathe and clean rivers to swim in (I took a hot shower after bridge jumping into the James a few years back).

And therein lies the danger of placing the creation above the Creator. People are so concerned about the environment that they want Green at any Cost! (kind of like Peace at any Cost, imo...) They don't care what the cost is to the economy. (which country gives more in foreign aid than any other? The U.S. Which country gives more in charitable contributions to non-profits to help in 3rd world countries around the world? The U.S.)

There's a difference between being a good steward and being an environmentalist. Enviro's place the earth's well being above that of the people that live there. They say that the earth's population is too high. Pardon me, but wasn't one of God's first commands to be fruitful and multiply?

They want to kill off the sick, old and weak to lessen the 'burden' on the environment. Show me where that's biblical. That is the direction the Green-ies want to take us, and as a Christian I have to categorically reject it.

don't get me wrong, I LOVE nature. I hunt, fish, hike, kayak and camp. And it makes me mad when i see trash scattered throughout the outdoors. Not only do I bring back all of my trash, but i try to bring back more besides so it can be disposed of properly. That doesn't make me an Enviro.

Far from it. I love my carbon producing car, just like I love my carbon producing lungs and the carbon producing deer I hunt and the carbon producing cows i put on the grill. After all, how would plants create oxygen for us to breathe is there were no CO2?

God has the whole global warming thing taken care of. Unless as an Enviro they don't believe in God (which they typically don't). In which case its up to them to save the planet. No wonder they freak out every time somebody starts their car.

It was above the dam in Big Island...so at that point in the James it only requires a hot shower lasting about 3 hours. At Lynchburg it would require the Hazmat team from LCF&EMS Station 7.

I think it is important that we understand our role in the shape our environment is in. I think it is important for the sake of not only our generation, but the generations that follow, to make major strides in cleaning up our land and our air. That was just my argument. I just believe that as Christians we should be at the forefront of this issue.

Ok, to just go to Revelations and say "It ends well" takes the situation totally out of context and takes quite an assumption. I am not doubting the second-coming of Jesus. I am just saying that to assume just because it ends well doesn't mean that there aren't negative effects coming to us before it happens.

They thought Jesus was coming back a long-time ago, and alot has happened between the world then and the world now. Who knows how long it will be and how much the decisions we make now will affect us in the long-term.

The main fear of these Global Warming peeps is the ice melting in the north and thus, mass flooding. Pretty sure God said to Noah that he ain't gonna do the whole flood the world thing ever again.
