Where on the radio dial will your broadcast be, BJ?

Can you give us a few sentences of preview of the 2 teams?

I believe it is WBRG. Is the regular season starting already there in Virginia? It doesn't start until next week here in Texas.

Heritage is in a pretty competitive district with Brookville and Liberty both making playoffs last year. Heritage had a bit of a down year (bowing out to William Byrd last year in the playoffs after an 8-2 regular season campaign) although they have been in the playoffs a number of times this decade. Itll be interesting as Heritage is a team heavy with juniors and seniors how they do in 2009

Rustburg is coming off a 1-win season in 2007 and lost to Heritage 45-6 in the opener last year at City Stadium.

Dont know much about the Red Devils beyond that but if last year was any indication...this one could be over pretty quickly

Pregame is at 7 PM on 1050 AM and I believe 104.5 FM also

Some additional insight on the Seminole District...Amherst finished undefeated last year but they lost a few key players plus their head coach. Rustburg is coming of a 1-win season. As said before, Liberty-Bedford and Brookville were playoff teams last year (Logan Thomas was just voted the winner of the Titan Trophy by the Society of Seven Sports Club Tuesday night) Staunton River went 0-fer last season (losing to Rustburg)

I just got briefed by my boss for tomorrow. I will be observing for the first half so I can get used to seeing how they do things during a live broadcast and then in the second half they will give me the reins and then next week I will be calling the entire Magna Vista vs. Heritage game. Its a change from what I was expecting for tomorrow but Im very accommodating so I will enjoy learning for the first half of tomorrow

First half is on-the-job training: BJ listening through headphones. :talktohand

Second half is "the debut": BJ announcing live behind the microphone! :blahblah

In the Seminole, it will be all Amherst and Brookville this year. Heritage lost a lot, Liberty is relatively inexperienced. JF should be the #3 team in the district, with Staunton River and Rustburg non-factors.

Is BJ's broadcast on 1050 A.M.? If so, I can't pick him up over in Forest.

1050 broadcasts from Madison Heights and since they're an AM station they have to power down at dusk. So you'd have to be on the other side of Lynchburg to hear him. Somebody mentioned it may be on 104.5 though.

Heritage wins 12-7. I got to come on in the second half and do color (they didnt give me PbP because of the close nature of the game) and got high praise for making some very informed comments and points in the second half. Next week...Magna Vista at City Stadium and they are takin my training wheels off

FCC regulations I believe. Although if there's a big even that 1050 is carrying, like the NCAA tournament or the Superbowl, you will magically be able to hear it even though it's night.
