Seems very rigorous. Do all police officers, state troopers and small town officers, etc. go through the same extensive training program?

Dang...the light ain't even at the end of the tunnel, yet! Are you basically a free-agent and willing to relocate from where you live now?

Yes, PA sets the standards thru the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Center; with the exception of the PA State Police, who do their own thing.

Any Muni cop anywhere in the state recieves the same basic training, as well as annual "mandatories" (updates). Consequently, when certified and after recieving your number, an officer can work anywhere in the Commonwealth.

1. Free agent: YES
2. Relocate: within reason [MrsPA's reason(s)- not mine 8) ]

yet another request- or two.

1. test tomorrow (the last one was pretty rough- not what we as a class were expecting: asking that I study the appropriate material)

2. very important job interview tomorrow nite with a well-respected dept. Would be a terrific opportunity for me. Pray that can accept whatever the decision is and not obsess over things I cannot control.

THANKS!

I'll be praying for wisdom and peace for you. But I have to tell you that it is tough to take requests seriously with that sig.

nice to see you could take time out of your busy "business-magnate" agenda to check in on us low life blue collar workers.

Guys- the test went well this AM! THANKS again!

interview tonite: I really have absolutely NO idea. I do, however- have a peace about the whole thing: it is out of my hands and I'm not going to obsess over it. Hoping to hear back in the next week or so- I believe there were approx 15 interviews this week so it may take a while.

thanks again for the support.

I don't think you can ever be prepared for this in Bucks County....

Angela Honeycutt, 38, and Lynne Long, 45, both of Bucks County, Pa., are accused of a series of allegedly sexual incidents April 14 as the teens, ages 14 to 16, attended a sleepover at Long's Lower Makefield home.

Apparently that's still illegal. Why its frowned upon MORE if men were instigating this against girls, I don't know.

Anyway- yet another week down and another test passed. 5 weeks and about 8 tests to go.

Doing well with the interviews- looks like I MAY have several jobs to choose from! Huge answer to prayers and relief if thats how it goes down- hope to hear for sure next week. Still have 2-3 interviews to go thru yet (As well as successful completion of the academy) so please keep me and my family in thoughts and prayers.

thanks!

quick update:

Part 1: last 2 weeks of class coming up. (Not counting today; Thurs 7/3- and we're off for the 4th)

only 1 week of classes and the last week is all testing. Actually have 6 tests as well as the cumulative FINAL.

Graduation scheduled for Fri the 18th- eager to be done, at this point.

Part 2: job search culminating as well- have it narrowed to 2 depts with 1 backup. Really need to make a decision THIS WEEK to get the process rolling.

please keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers that I make the right choices. Much stress at this point.

Do the departments make you sign lengthy contracts? Just curious.

We'll have you in our prayers.

Re: contracts: no, that's the nice part.

Generally speaking- if you leave within 1 year, you are obligated to pay back costs associated with hiring/training but that's not the case with every dept.

In my case- its not an issue as I put myself thru the academy.
