Do they still have preachers come out and speak on the evils of back masking? This was a big topic in the early 80s. I remember when this guy named Sketch Errikson came and spoke on the evils of back masking (he looked like Francis Scheaffer), and then the following chapel...who should be the speaker but Franky Scheaffer. His book called, "Addicted to Mediocrity" had just come out. This is the one where he called handing out tracts a form of spiritual mugging.

Wouldn't be suprised, there are always some hard-core fundys out there that will come up a myth to preach on. Even if they know it isn't true, if it serves their human purpose, they will beat people over the head with it. Sad really.

I backmask messages into every voicemail I leave my wife hoping I can get her to bake me a pie later in the day. Sometimes I also toss in multiple drum tracks combined with heavily syncopated electric guitar rhythms.

For more information please see:

I was forced to watch that in Humanities 101 by Dr. Seipp and I almost left Liberty over it. If they're still teaching that, they really really need to stop.

we watched it in psych 101. but the teacher said that it was his opinion, and then had class discussion about it. he didn't force it down our throats, but more used it to start a thought provoking discussion

I don't believe I've even heard the term "back masking" since the Judas Priest trial in '89. Somewhere, someone in a shiny three-piece suit and carrying a 14-pound Bible has dropped the ball.

On a completely separate note, why do I suddenly feel like breakin' the law, breakin' the law?

Just so everyone knows, my favorite part of the Hells Bells cover is that Whitney Houston is listed. I'm still wondering what she did to earn her place with the other folks on that list.

There were a few of us that were taking Dallas Holm, Tim Sheppard, Don Norman & Mack Evans and playing them back wards looking for those dark & evil hidden messages. In fact, I even thought about doing a backmasking expose on WLBU using Norman & Evans records, with tongue firmly planted in cheek...but soon realized that it might have ended up with me being suspended (happened to me once while I was there) or even expelled. By the way, whatever happened to Don Norman, Mack Evans and (quick like a bunnny rabbit) Sumner Wemp?

Mack Evans passed away several years ago. Don Norman left his wife for another woman and last I heard was humping insurance on low-budget gospel music shows (glorified infomercials). Sumner was back for the funeral. I'm not sure where he is, although Texas comes to mind. I truly admired Don Norman, and was really disappointed when I heard what he had done.

What about Ed Hindson and the Pantanos? Are they still there? If Ed is still there, is he still doing OT101? Anyone remember when the barn burned down?
